1. Who We Are
FlashJobs is operated by FlashJobs, Inc., a Delaware, USA corporation ("FlashJobs", "we", "us"), at 2261 Market St Ste 80937, San Francisco, CA 94114. FlashJobs connects Workers with short-term shifts at local Businesses in Malaysia. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your choices under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Contact: [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us:
- Account details: name, mobile number, email address, password
- Worker profiles: date of birth, gender, profile photo, home area (address and coordinates), availability, commute preferences, transport mode, skills, experience, qualifications, desired rate, bio
- Business profiles: business name and address, logo, trade details, optional SSM number and certificate, social media handles
- Content you create: in-app messages, reviews, support requests, reports of other users or content, and your answers if you complete the optional survey when deleting your account
Collected automatically:
- Device model, operating system, app version, IP address
- A push notification token for your device, so we can send you notifications
- How you use the app — the screens you visit and features you use
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics
We do not collect bank or card details, and we do not collect government-issued identification such as IC or passport numbers.
3. Location
Workers: location access is required to use the Worker app. When you open the app we use your device location to show shifts near you. During an active shift, your location is shared with that Business to show your arrival progress — including in the background, only while the shift is active, stopping when it ends. If you do not grant location access, the Worker app cannot be used.
Businesses: the Business app does not track your device location. You enter a venue address for each shift, and that address is the only location information collected from Businesses.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and manage your account; show shifts near you and match you with Businesses; let a Business see the details needed to hire and coordinate a shift; operate, secure, and improve the app; communicate with you; and comply with the law.
We use analytics to understand how the app is used — for example, which screens and features you interact with — so we can operate, maintain, and improve the service. To diagnose problems, we may also replay how the app's screens were used during a session: text you type and images on screen are masked and are never captured in these recordings.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not track you across other companies' apps.
5. Payments
Businesses pay Workers directly, outside the app, after the shift. FlashJobs does not hold, process, or take a cut of wages, and does not collect bank or card details from anyone.
Business subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store or Google Play, which process the payment — we never see your card number. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, and for Business accounts we share the account name, email, and phone number with RevenueCat so your subscription can be tied to your business.
6. How We Share Information
- With Businesses: when you are matched to a shift, the Business receives the details needed to hire and coordinate — your name, photo, relevant profile information, and your location and arrival progress during that shift only
- Service providers: Supabase (hosting, database, and authentication; Singapore), Sentry (crash and performance reports, including IP address; United States), PostHog (product analytics and masked session replay; United States), RevenueCat (subscription management for Business accounts; United States), Apple and Google (sign-in, and subscription billing for Business accounts)
- Legal: where required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or prevent fraud
7. International Transfers
Your data is hosted in Singapore, and some processing occurs in the United States (Sentry, PostHog, RevenueCat, and our company). Where personal data leaves Malaysia, we protect it consistent with the PDPA.
8. Data Retention
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it — except where a longer period is required by law or for disputes and fraud prevention. When you delete your account, we deactivate and anonymize it; some records, such as completed-shift history, reviews, and legally required records, are retained in anonymized form.
9. Your Rights (PDPA)
You may access your data, correct it, request a copy, and withdraw consent — for example by turning off location access, although some features will stop working. You can delete your account in the app under Profile settings; contact support within 30 days if you change your mind. If your account is a Business account with an active subscription, remember to also cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings — deleting the account does not cancel it. If a data breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities as required. Requests: [email protected].
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, secure token storage on your device, and access controls. No system is completely secure.
11. Children
FlashJobs is for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here, update the date above, and notify you of material changes.
